The difference between continuous and discrete data is important since it affects the process of summarising, visualising and modelling the data. Continuous data can take infinitely many different values in a range (e.g., time to complete a task to any decimal), whereas discrete data take particular values which are distinct (e.g., number of tasks completed). In doing continuous vs discrete, you can select the right charts (histogram or bar chart) and statistical tools.
